Perak Sultan’s shoulder surgery a success

August 07, 2012

IPOH, Aug 7 — The Sultan of Perak, Sultan Azlan Shah, underwent successful surgery on a shoulder at a hospital in London on July 30, the sultan’s private secretary, Col (Rtd) Datuk Abdul Rahim Mohamad Nor, said today.

He said the sultan suffered pain in the shoulder when he was in London as a member of the Appeal Board for hockey at the London Olympics and in his capacity as the president of the Asian Hockey Federation (AHF) to attend a meeting of the executive board of the International Hockey Federation (FIH) scheduled for tomorrow.

Abdul Rahim said Sultan Azlan Shah (picture) would remain in London for post-operative care and would return to Malaysia when advised to do so by the medical specialists.

“Let us all pray for God to shower His blessings on His Royal Highness so that he will recuperate fast and regain his health,” he said. — Bernama
