Plus: Traffic still smooth ahead of Aidilfitri
KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 17 ― The volume of traffic on the North-South Expressway (Plus) heading both north and south from the Klang Valley showed an increase since 8pm but was reported to moving smoothly.
According to the Plus Traffic Control Centre, traffic was seen getting heavier from Ipoh to Kuala Kangsar.
“Roads leading out of the federal capital to the south from the Sungai Besi toll plaza showed more vehicles on the highway after the breaking of fast as more people are returning to their kampung to celebrate Aidilfitri,” a representative said.
On Twitter, Plus also reported that, just before 9pm tonight, traffic was reported to be slow moving between Tapah and Gopeng, from Km307 to Km 304 heading north.
Meanwhile, the Malaysian Highway Authority said traffic from the federal capital heading to the east coast through Karak highway was moving smoothly.
“However, at the Gombak toll plaza heading towards Genting Sempah, traffic is moving slowly following a downpour just now,” he said.
