June 18, 2012

KUALA LUMPUR, June 18 — An eramine 5 syndicate, active in the Klang Valley for the past six months, was crippled by police following the seizure of RM5.4 million worth of drugs and the arrest of six suspects.

Four men and two women, between 20 and 40 years old, were detained in two separate raids in Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya on May 31.

At a press conference here today, Bukit Aman Narcotics Crime Investigation director Datuk Noor Rashid Ibrahim said the raids netted 44,930 eramine 5 pills worth RM898,600.

Following which, police discovered the syndicate’s warehouse at a shop house in Taman Pinggiran Senawang, Negeri Sembilan on June 14, he added.

This raid led to a stash of 225,500 pills of the same drug valued at RM4.5 million, said Noor Rashid.

The suspects have been charged under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, he concluded. — Bernama
