June 05, 2012

GEORGE TOWN, June 5 — Police today saved a woman who was driving in a hysterical manner, with one hand holding a knife to her neck, at Jalan Delima 7, Taman Island Glades here.

Timur Laut district police chief ACP Gan Kong Meng said police went to her rescue after receiving a call about a 27-year-old woman pointing a knife to her neck in a car.

“A police patrol car was sent to the scene and the police tried to persuade her to open her car door, but she refused and instead sped away,” he told reporters.

He said the woman drove in a hysterical manner and at high sped, taking the police almost 20 minutes to intercept her car.

The woman was sent to the Penang Hospital and preliminary investigation found that she had lost her job two days ago, he added. — Bernama
