Rafizi quits as CEO of Selangor economic advisor’s office
KUALA LUMPUR, June 21 — Parti Keadilan Rakyat's (PKR) director of strategy Mohd Rafizi Ramli today announced his resignation as the chief executive officer of the Selangor Economic Advisor's Office.
The post of economic advisor to the Selangor government is held by Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who is also the de facto head of PKR).
“I have given notice of my resignation. Any inquiries on Selangor's economy or related matters after this should be referred to the state government or Anwar Ibrahim," he said in a Twitter mesage.
He also denied that there was any political dimension to his resignation.
There had been speculation that there was a rift between him and Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim pertaining to a free education project in the state and also factionalism in Selangor PKR.
Attempts to reach him by phone were unsuccessful but he sent an SMS to Bernama to confirm the resignation and that he wanted to focus on party matters because the general election was nearing. — Bernama
