Renewal of printing licence, publication permit abolished
KUALA LUMPUR, July 18 — The licence for printing presses and permit for publications will no longer need to be renewed annually effective July 15.
Home Ministry deputy secretary-general (security) Datuk Alwi Ibrahim said any licence or permit, which expires after that date, would remain valid unless revoked by the government.
However, any licence or permit, which expired before July 15, must be renewed, he said in a statement today.
The regulations for new applications of a licence or permit, however, remain unchanged.
Alwi said those who want to amend the information in their licences and permits should notify the ministry.
The abolition of the need to renew the licence for printing presses and permit for publications is in line with the amendment to the Printing Presses and Publications Act 2012, he added. — Bernama
