Report lodged against blogger for allegedly defaming Johor sultan
JOHOR BAHARU, July 1 — A group of 30 people have lodged a police report against paranormal practitioner Syed Abdullah Hussein Al-Attas for allegedly posting provocative, instigative and spiteful comments against the Sultan of Johor on his blog, uncleseekers.blogspot.com.
They also want the police to investigate Syed Abdullah for allegedly demeaning the Tunku Mahkota of Johor, and state leaders and government officers.
Speaking on behalf of the group after lodging the report at the Central Police Station here at noon today, Khairil Azlishah Jalil, 32, said they urged the authorities to close the blog site as it had been posting allegedly privileged documents.
"As Johor citizens, who are loyal to the Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim, and the state government, we are perturbed over the accusations and incitement which could disrupt unity and the well-being of the people.
"We are not representing any party or any non-governmental organisation. We found that off late postings on the blog had turned vicious," he added. — Bernama
