Selangor royalty ordered to enter defence on RM1.15m CBT charge
PETALING JAYA, June 26 — The Sessions Court today ordered a member of the Selangor royal family to enter his defence on a criminal breach of trust (CBT) charge involving RM1.15 million.
Judge Rozina Ayob in her ruling said the prosecution had succeeded in establishing a prima facie case against Tengku Mohd Kamil Tengku Shahrudin Shah, 63.
She set three days for the defence’s trial from July 6 this year.
Tengku Mohd Kamil, a director of construction company Aneka Melur Sdn Bhd, allegedly committed the offence using 16 cheques at D216, Blok D, Tingkat 2, Kelana Square, Petaling Jaya in 2005.
He faces a jail term of between two years and 20 years, whipping, and is liable to be fined under Section 409 of the Penal Code, if convicted.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Nazul Nizam Mohd Zameri prosecuted while counsel Md Yunos Shariff is representing the accused. — Bernama
