Kedah MIC liaison chief S. Ananthan said the contribution was channelled through Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk G. Palanivel, who is also MIC president.

“The Barisan Nasional (BN) government has never sidelined any race or religion in this country, while the transformation policy initiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has won over many quarters,” he said after handing over RM30,000 to the Chapel of Sorrow chairman K. Joseph, at Sungai Ular Plantation, near here, today.

Ananthan said the MIC felt responsible towards Christians in this country as they also contributed to the nation.

He said each year, the central and Kedah MIC did not forget the contribution of the Christians in Kedah and thankful for this, it continued to channel the aid needed, while the MIC always has good relations with all church leaders.

He believed that the more than 10,000 Christian Indian voters in Kedah would be more inclined to support BN in the coming 13th general election.
