Shun protests, Yakcop tells students
KEPALA BATAS, July 7 — Students from Institutions of Higher Learning (IHL) were advised to refrain from participating in protests and being influenced by such a culture which was promoted by irresponsible parties out to destroy the government’s good intentions.
Minister in Prime Minister’s Department Tan Sri Nor Mohamed Yakcop (picture) said students should instead use this golden opportunity to study hard and fulfil their family’s dreams.
“Use your time at the IHL to achieve your ambitions and be good people, then be of service to society and your families,” he said when presenting RM200 in aid to 102 students accepted into IHLs, at Sekolah Rendah Kebangsaan Desa Murni here today.
He also presented laptops to 42 community leaders and associations in the Tasek Gelugor parliamentary constituency aimed at enhancing their community work.
He added that the federal government was always committed to helping the people and seeking ways to provide them with a better life. — Bernama
