Singer Hafiz AF sued over alleged altercation

July 31, 2012

KUALA LUMPUR, July 31 — Singer Hafiz AF was today sued by a former stage manager of an entertainment programme on Astro for allegedly causing injuries that she sustained.

Nur Haniza Mohd Azhar, 25, sought more than RM200,000 in damages from Hafiz (picture), whose actual name is Mohd Hafiz Mohd Suip, 22, and the winner of the seventh “Akademi Fantasia” series.

She filed the suit at the Sessions Court registrar here, through Messrs Boestamam Ahmad & Co.

In her statement of claim, Nur Haniza alleged that Mohd Hafiz had insisted on seeing her to discuss an undisclosed matter while she was busy at work as a stage manager on the Salih Yaacob Show at the Filem Negara Studio at 3.15pm on May 17 last year.

Nur Haniza claimed that when she declined politely, Mohd Hafiz turned aggressive and pushed her down a staircase.

She claimed that his action had caused injury to her right leg, which was still painful; and caused her to be blacklisted from working on any Astro shows as well as suffering embarrassment due to media reports on the incident.

Nur Haniza, who is a sales consultant at an automobile company, said she had served a notice on June 25 demanding an apology and damages but Mohd Hafiz allegedly denied causing her injuries.

She is seeking general, special and aggravated damages, loss of amenities, cost and other relief deemed fit by the court. — Bernama
