Student activist arrested

Student activist Khalid Mohd Ismath was arrested in Klang today for allegedly sharing seditious remarks on electronic media.

Acting Selangor police chief Datuk A. Thaiveegan said that the 23-year-old was picked up at about 5.45pm.

"He will be investigated by Kajang police following a report lodged against him at Batu 9 Cheras police station several days ago.

"The report was lodged by the person who received the remarks from Khalid," he said.

Khalid, who had been previously arrested for his alleged involvement a rally on April 28, is also being investigated for allegedly kicking a traffic policeman at that rally and threatening to kill policemen via his Facebook account.
