Student killed in illegal bike race
KUANTAN, Sept 5 — A student was killed while allegedly racing with several friends when his motorcycle skidded and hit an electrical pole in Jalan Semantan Felda Keratong 4, Bandar Baru Tun Razak, Rompin yesterday.
Pahang Public Order and Traffic chief Supt Mohamed Fauzi Abdul Rahim said in the 12.30am incident, Muhammad Khalil Qusyairi Abdul Halim, 15, who was not wearing a helmet died of head injuries on the way to a nearby community clinic.
Meanwhile, another motorcyclist was killed when she was hit from the back by a car in Jalan Kuantan Bypass near Kuantan Port opposite a petrol station at 8.15am yesterday.
Fauzi said housewife Ngadinam Panjan, 54, who was travelling in the direction from Kuantan to Kemaman was believed to have changed her lane from left to right way to make a U-turn when the accident occurred.
She died at the scene. — Bernama
