EC chairman Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusof said there will not be any early voting. There are 27,222 voters in the constituency.

The by-election is being held following the death of the Sungai Limau incumbent Tan Sri Azizan Razak last Thursday.

Azizan, from PAS, was a former Kedah menteri besar. He held the seat for five terms and in the last election he defeated his cousin, Fazillah Mohd Ali from Barisan Nasional, by a 2,774 vote majority. – October 3, 2013.
