Tee Keat not in MCA’s candidate list for Election 2013, says Chua

PETALING JAYA, Feb 27 — MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek today confirmed that Pandan MP Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat was not listed in the party’s candidates list that was sent Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

Therefore, he said he could not provide any information on Ong (picture) who will defend his seat as a direct Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate, as reported by a news portal, recently.

“I have not heard of any information on that appointment and as far as I know, our list of candidates does not carry Ong’s name.

“However if the appointment involved MCA, we will hold a discussion and announce it later,” he told reporters after attending the launch of a book “The Professor and the JUITA-NGO” here by Tourism Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ng Yen Yen today.

Also present was Johor Menteri Besar’s wife Prof Datin Paduka Dr Jamilah Ariffin who is the author of the book which is a compilation of her activities and experience throughout her mission to help the underprivileged. — Bernama
