June 14, 2012

KUALA LUMPUR, June 14 — A teenager who possessed Eramine 5 pills was nabbed last night when his attempt to throw away the drugs 100 metres before a police roadblock caught the attention of the police.

Kuala Lumpur Traffic Special Enforcement Unit chief ASP Azmi Wahid said the teenager, who was riding a motorcycle, was seen throwing something by the roadside before several policemen found two of the pills.

“We arrested him and after being questioned he confessed that he had started taking the pills three weeks ago,” he told reporters during an operation dubbed “Ops Samseng” here.

An inspection had also revealed that the teenager did not have a driving licence and road tax. He also tested positive for marijuana.

The operation began at 10.30pm and ended at 1.30 this morning at the Duta-Ulu Kelang Expressway (DUKE) exit to Padang Balang, Sentul.

“About 180 vehicles were inspected and 317 summonses issued for various offences. Eight motorcycles were also seized,” Azmi said. — Bernama
