Traffic officer charged with colleague’s death
KLANG, July 20 — A traffic policeman was charged at the Magistrate Court here today with causing the death of his colleague by negligence last month.
Corporal Mohd Sedi Mat, 51, pleaded not guilty when the charge was read to him before Magistrate Hurman Hussain.
The charge under Section 304 A of the Penal Code carries a maximum jail term of two years, or fines, or both, upon conviction.
He was alleged to have caused the death of Corporal Mustaghni Tabri, 48, by negligence at Jalan Lingkungan Kampung Raja Uda in Port Klang here at about 1.45am on June 3.
Hurman allowed Mohd Sedi bail of RM4,000 in one surety and fixed September 10 for mention.
Deputy public prosecutor Putri Iskandariah Mat Tahir appeared for the prosecution, while Mohd Sedi was represented by lawyer Affifuddin Mohd Afifi. — Bernama
