Two new policies for employment in public sector

July 02, 2012

KUALA LUMPUR, July 2 — The Public Service Commission (PSC) today announced two new policies for employment in the public sector.

The new policies, which took effect yesterday, are aimed at increasing the chances for the applicants to secure the jobs in the public service.

The first policy is to allow degree holders to apply for jobs at the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) level.

This is to encourage fair competition for the post, regardless of the applicants' qualifications, the PSC said in a statement today.

The statement also said that as at today, 852 degree holders had applied for SPM-level positions in the public sector.

The second policy, on the other hand, is to allow the applicants to choose up to 15 positions in the SPA8i Online Job Application Form compared to the current five positions.

This is to provide more chances for the applicant to be recruited to the  most suitable position, the statement said.

Since yesterday, 5,991 applicants had submitted their applications for more than five positions. — Bernama
