PARIS, June 7 — Mezzetta’s annual “Make your own sandwich” contest is underway and this year you can also vote for your favourite celebrity chef’s sandwich.

At MakeThatSandwich.com you can enter your sandwich design and win up to US$25,000 (RM80,000) and also help a celebrity chef gift their chosen charity US$10,000 by voting their sandwich creation best.

To enter the contest all that you need to do is submit your recipe for a cold, hot or vegetarian sandwich with an optional (but encouraged) photo online by Sept 6. There are a few small catches: You have to be 18 years old, reside in the US or Canada to win the prize and your sandwich has to include two Mezzetta products including specialty peppers, olives and gourmet foods, Mezzetta Deli-Sliced (sliced specialty peppers), Napa Valley Bistro (specialty pasta sauces and olives) or Kona Coast (teriyaki and BBQ sauces).

Voting for your favourite celebrity chef’s sandwich is easier but not so tasty virtually, however the added perk is all the sandwich recipes are online if you feel like brown-bagging some new creations.

And, if you are looking for more recipes to help you whip up yummy sandwiches, check out award-winning celebrity chef Tom Colicchio’s book wichcraft: Craft a Sandwich into a Meal —And a Meal into a Sandwich or blogs devoted to sandwiches and those that love them including Keaggy.com :: I Love Sandwiches and Everyone Likes Sandwiches.
