Multi-talented 25-year-old tenniswoman Sharapova has stepped into the candy business with an array of hot colours, funky names and yummy packaging. Sugarpova offers a range of 12 gummy delicacies, each bearing a specific name and description.
The little gummy lips are dubbed “Flirty: lips like sugar”, and the gummy accessories are named “Chic: some style for your smile”. The tennis ball-shaped “Sporty: the taste of victory” are already sold out.
Packages sell for US$5.99 (RM18.75) each or 12 for US$49.99.
Luxury candy in pretty packaging, targeted for the most part at women, has become increasingly trendy since the 2001 launch of Dylan’s Candy Bar, a chain of fashionable sweets boutiques founded by Dylan Lauren, daughter of American designer Ralph Lauren.
The colourful Sugapova candies, already available in the US, can also be ordered online via the Sugarpova site.
Part of the benefits will be donated to the Maria Sharapova foundation dedicated to helping children around the world. — AFP/Relaxnews
