Man reported missing while trekking in Templer’s Park

KUALA LUMPUR, May 10 — An oil and gas exploration company executive has been reported missing while trekking a hill at the Templer's Park in Rawang, near here yesterday.

Hardip Singh, 51, is believed to have gone missing about 5.30pm, after informing his family that he would be trekking alone.

His cousin, Mohinder Singh, 43, told Bernama today that the missing man's family had lodged a report at the Selayang police station.

He said a search and rescue (SAR) operation comprising rangers, a team from the district fire and rescue department and tracker dog unit was set up to locate Hardip.

However, he said, the SAR operation was more or less hampered yesterday, due to a heavy downpour.

Meanwhile, Gombak police chief ACP Abd Rahim Abdullah said initial investigations revealed that Hardip could still be in the area where he went trekking. — Bernama
