KUANTAN, July 7 — A senior citizen and his family were robbed by three men armed with machetes at their house in Taman Rimba, Mentakab today.

Temerloh district police chief ACP Mohd Noor Mansor said the victim was replacing his vehicle road tax disc in his car at about 7.50am when three men, armed with a machete, rushed into the compound.

The robbers ordered the man into the house and then locked the victim, his wife and two children in a room before ransacking the house, he added.

He said the robbers fled with RM8,000 in cash and a laptop. — Bernama
