KUALA LUMPUR, July 12 — Mass Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) today awarded four work packages for the MRT Sungai Buloh-Kajang project with a total value of RM767 million.
The company, in a statement here today said that the awards were made following a sitting of the One-Stop Procurement Committee (OSTC) in Putrajaya which was chaired by Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah.
The committee awarded TSR Bina Sdn Bhd with Package MSPR1 which is for the construction and completion of a multistorey carpark building, external works and other associated works at Sungai Buloh station, with the contracts worth RM117.1 million.
For this package, the committee received bids from 17 parties.
TSR Bina also bagged Package DPT2 for the construction and completion of the Kajang Maintenance Depot, administrative building, external and associated works coming to RM212.8 million in value.
Package DPT2, which is a package for Bumiputera companies, received bids from seven out of eight pre-qualified tenderers.
MRT Corp said the committee awarded Naim Engineering Sdn Bhd with Package S4, for the construction and completion of the Section 16, Pusat Bandar Damansara and Semantan elevated stations and other associated works with contract valued at RM208.2 million.
As for Package S5, which is for the construction and completion of the Taman Bukit Ria, Taman Bukit Mewah, Leisure Mall and Plaza Phoenix, it was secured by IJM Construction Sdn Bhd with the job valued at RM228.9 million.
Package S4, which is an open package, received bids from 11 out of 14 pre-qualified tenderers while Package S5, also an open package, received bids from eight out of 14 pre-qualified tenderers.
MRT Corp said with these awards, both depot packages for the MRT Sungai Buloh-Kajang project have been awarded.
As for Packages MSPR1, it is the first of nine multi-storey carpark packages to be awarded while the remaining eight packages will be out for tender soon.
Package S4 and S5 are the first two of a total of eight elevated station packages to be awarded for the project.
Of the remaining six station packages, three are currently under evaluation while the remaining three are out for tender.
Five out of the eight station packages are Bumiputera packages. — Bernama
