He said the continued support would contribute to the success of all policies and programmes that were being implemented throughout the state for the prosperity of the people.

“Thus, I call upon the Chinese community to continue to support the government in developing the state of Sabah,” he said in his speech at the “Malaysia Tua Peh Kung Festival” dinner at the Chun Chu Kung Temple, near here tonight.

The text of his speech was read by Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Dr Yee Moh Chai.

Musa said the Sabah government had provided much assistance for the activities of the Chinese associations in terms of religion and education, by channelling allocations to Chinese schools and temples.

He also welcomed the implementation of the programme because it not only inculcated the spirit of togetherness and goodwill among the local community but also introduced the cultural variety and wealth among the people in the country.

Musa was confident that the programme would also assist in boosting the state’s economy and the tourism industry. — Bernama
