REMBAU, Aug 20 — The body of a baby boy, with bruises on the head, eyes, cheeks and back, was found at a bus stop at Batu 8, Jalan Pedas-Linggi near here today.

Rembau police chief DSP Mizan Md Dom said passers-by found the body at the bus stop about 6am.

“The dead baby, believed to be about 10 to 12 months old, was found wrapped in a batik sarong and towel.

“There was an inoculation mark on the baby’s left arm,” he said.

He said the body has been sent to Tuanku Ja’afar Hospital in Seremban for a post-mortem.

Mizan urged those with information on the baby to contact the Rembau police station at 06-685-2222 or 06-685-1999 or the nearest police station.

“I’m also appealing to private clinics in the area to contact the police if they had given treatment to any baby within the age of 10 to 12 months old for fever or from a fall,” he added. — Bernama
