Jul 07, 2012

KUCHING, July 7 — The body of a 55-year-old sago palm cutter, believed to have been attacked by a crocodile at Batang Saribas last Thursday, was recovered today.

Drahman Chali’s body, with limbs detached and head almost severed, was found near a riverbank opposite Kampung Medang, Spaoh, about 20km from where he was apparently set upon.

“His family from Kampung Hilir Beladin identified the body at Betong Hospital and the search and rescue operation involving various government agencies has since been called off,” said Betong police chief DSP Sarifuddin Mustaffa when contacted by Bernama.

On June 19, a woman, Siah anak Munsong, 42, was attacked by a crocodile at Sungai Seblak, also in the Betong division. — Bernama
