PUTRAJAYA, Sept 6 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak today paid the “zakat fitrah” (personal tithe) for himself and his dependants at the Prime Minister’s Office here.

The tithes were paid to the “amil” (tithe collector) from the Federal Territory Tithe Collection Centre, Ahmad Husni Abd Rahman.

Several staff and officers from the Prime Minister’s Department also fulfilled their duties as Muslims in paying the tithes.

The personal tithe is payable from the first day of Ramadan until before the Hari Raya prayer is performed on the first day of Syawal. — Bernama
