TAIPING, Sept 3 — An elderly widow was found dead at her house in Kampung Padang Gajah, Pantai Remis here yesterday.

Esah Rejab, 64, whose hands and legs were tied, is believed to have been beaten to death.

A neighbour found the body about 4.30pm and alerted the police.

Taiping police chief Assistant Commissioner Yusof Mohd Diah said today, initial investigations revealed that Esah, who lived alone, was killed during a robbery.

He said the victim's mobile phone was missing, adding that the body was sent to the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital.
