The pedestrian walkway outside BB Plaza will be part of the cordoned-off area. — File picKUALA LUMPUR, July 13 — Mass Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp) today announced that hoarding works for the construction of the BB Sentral MRT station at Jalan Bukit Bintang will commence from Monday.
The area to be hoarded is the pavement area in front of Bukit Bintang Plaza (BB Plaza) and Bangunan Yayasan Selangor.
This is to ensure public safety during the removal of existing structures at the site.
MRT Corp Strategic Communications & PR director Amir Mahmood Razak assured pedestrians and road users that all necessary steps would be taken to minimise inconvenience.
“Our contractors will ensure safety is not compromised, while at the same time minimising inconvenience during the works. The hoardings are being erected to enclose the worksite from pedestrians for their own safety,” he said in a statement here today.
He also added that a lit pedestrian walkway would be provided in the areas adjacent to the worksite and proper signboards and directional signs would also be erected to guide pedestrians. — Bernama
