LOS ANGELES, Aug 9 — The first trailer for “Playing for Keeps” shows Scottish actor Gerard Butler in the role of a former soccer star who settles in the US suburbs as a youth coach.
The rom-com was recently revealed by FilmDistrict as a Yahoo! Movies exclusive. It shows Gerard Butler as a former Celtic FC star who struggles to get back on track. His life starts to have meaning again when he becomes a little league soccer coach for his son’s team.

Catherine Zeta-Jones, Uma Thurman and Dennis Quaid are also part of the cast of Italian director Gabriele Muccino’s (“The Pursuit of Happyness”) latest production. “Playing for Keeps” is heading for a September 7 launch in North American theatres.
