LONDON, June 19 — Former Malaysia defender Shebby Singh is now director of football at relegated football team Blackburn Rovers.
According to the Daily Mail, Blackburn’s Indian owners Venky’s appointed Singh to act, among other things, as a “go-between” between them and current Blackburn manager Steve Kean. Kean’s own career is in doubt after Blackburn’s relegation from the English Premier League after losing at home to Wigan Athletic on May 7, 2012. This ended 11 years of the club playing in the EPL.
Singh is a well-known football pundit, airing his views on Asian TV as well as in his weekly column with The Malaysian Insider.
