NEW YORK, April 3 — CBS has started promoting its new series “Under the Dome,” inspired by Stephen King’s two-part novel.
The first teaser for the series, expected on June 24, shows images and accounts from the literary master of horror and suspense.
“Under the Dome” will tell the story of the inhabitants of Chester’s Mills, a small town in Maine that is cut off from the rest of the world when a dome mysteriously appears.
With the help of a powerless army, a small group will try and resist the stranglehold of a local council member who tries to take advantage of the situation and control the town.
Steven Spielberg will produce this series, directed by Niels Arden Oplev (“Millennium,” Swedish version) and written by Brian K. Vaughan.
The renowned comic book author (“X-Men,” “Spider-man,” “Green Lantern”) was responsible for the series “Lost,” another supernatural thriller set within an enclosed space.
Rachelle Lefevre (“Twilight”), Dean Norris (“Breaking Bad”) and Mike Vogel (“Pan Am,” “The Help”) will play the lead roles.
The cast will also feature actors Colin Ford, Natalie Martinez, Alex Koch, Britt Robertson, Jolene Purdy, Nicholas Strong and Aisha Hinds. – AFP-Relaxnews
