Patrick Wolf's latest album, 'Sundark and Riverlight'. — All rights reservedNEW YORK, Oct 14 — Eclectic English singer-songwriter Patrick Wolf, who has been described by Pitchfork as a "neo-Dickensian laptop minstrel" and a "pacifist werewolf bent on a nomadic musical existence," celebrates his tenth anniversary of album-making this year by releasing Sundark and Riverlight, an acoustic reworking some of his best-known and beloved songs from the past decade, out October 15.

Who?

English singer Patrick Wolf first leaped into public consciousness in 2003 with the release of his debut LP Lycanthropy, recorded over a period of eight years between 1994 and 2002. This debut effort was critically acclaimed, scoring 8.2/10.0 on Pitchfork and kickstarting Wolf's career. Since then the multi-instrumentalist, who over the past ten years has played everything from piano to ukulele, has won critical and popular acclaim for his diverse musical style.

Why the buzz?

Marking ten years since the completion of Lycanthropy, Wolf is releasing Sundark and Riverlight, a double album of re-workings of some of the artist's most memorable songs throughout the last decade. The double LP, Wolf's first purely acoustic effort, is described as "a double-disc outsiders' journey forever in search of somewhere to belong and someone to be" (Drowned In Sound), and "the most intimate record of Wolf's career" (Sputnik Music).  English newspaper The Guardian gave the album three out of five stars, and he earned 8/10 by music blog The Line Of Best Fit.

What to listen to?

Sundark and Riverlight drops on October 15 and can be purchased via www.patrickwolf.com and from iTunes, Amazon and record stores (Wolf recommends several local/independent stores on his website). For those who want to listen before buying, the album can be streamed on Soundcloud at soundcloud.com/patrick-wolf.

Wolf has European tour kicking off on Sunday, October 14, in Hamburg, Germany, and concluding on December 11 in Brighton, UK. Full dates and further information can be found via the artist's website at www.patrickwolf.com/livedates/.  — AFP-Relaxnews
