Even more impressive, the feat was achieved in just 12 days, from October 26 to November 7. “Skyfall” now reigns unchallenged at the top of the pack among other 007 flicks, and the Sam Mendes-directed movie also entered the top 10 of the most grossing films in the UK, behind “The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers” (£57.6 million).

As icing on the cake (or an olive in the martini), the movie also ranks first among the most lucrative films of 2012 in the country. With £57 million already in the bank, it rose above “The Dark Knight Rises” (£55.8 million). “Skyfall” also broke the records for best launch ever (first week) and best Saturday ever in the UK. — AFP-Relaxnews
