PARIS, Jan 9 — The film production company Relativity Media has announced that Danish actress Connie Nielsen (“Gladiator”) will join the cast of a thriller co-written and produced by Luc Besson.

Initially called “Three Days to Kill,” the film, directed by McG (“Target”), will focus on a Secret Service agent played by Kevin Costner. He is ravaged by illness and in conflict with his ex-wife (Nielsen, picture) and his daughter (Steinfeld). In exchange for one last mission, he is offered an experimental treatment with heavy side effects which he hopes will help him build bridges with the people he cares about.

Amber Heard will also feature in this dark comedy with a plot that resembles the French series “No Limit,” developed by Luc Besson and starring Vincent Elbaz as the sick agent.

EuropaCorp and Relativity Media are hoping to repeat the success of “Taken,” an action saga in English initiated by Luc Besson. — AFP/Relaxnews
