‘Flight’ scheduled for the closing of the NY Film Festival
NEW YORK, Aug 13 — Robert Zemeckis’s drama “Flight”, starring Denzel Washington, will be screened at the end of the 50th edition of the New York Film Festival.
New Yorkers will be the first to see the movie on October 14, 2012 at Lincoln Centre’s Alice Tully Hall. It is the first live-action film in twelve years for Robert Zemeckis, who went on a long exploration of CGI effects after 2000’s Cast Away.
In the new movie, scheduled for release on November 20, 2012 in North America, Denzel Washington portrays an airline pilot recognized as a hero for having saved his passengers. As the story unravels, viewers learn that he had alcohol in his system when he made the emergency landing that avoided disaster.
The 50th edition of the New York Film Festival will open on September 28, 2012 at Lincoln Center. Tickets will be available from September 9, 2012 onwards, according to the event’s organizers. — AFP/Relaxnews
