Forbidden love in store for Jennifer Lawrence
LOS ANGELES, Aug 9 — “The Hunger Games” star Jennifer Lawrence will play a woman who marries her uncle in a movie about politician and oil tycoon Ernest Whitworth Marland.
The Weinstein Company is seeking out Jennifer Lawrence for the leading role in historical drama “The Ends of the Earth”. The feature film will tackle the love between Lydie Marland and her uncle in the first half of the 20th century.
An oil tycoon who later became governor of Oklahoma, Ernest W. Marland adopted his niece and nephew, Lydie and George, to help out his sister and her husband. Two years later, upon the death of his wife, a 54-year-old Ernest Marland married his 28-year-old niece. She stayed with him until his death, through his periods of financial distress and his election in Oklahoma, and went on to live a secluded life afterwards.
The project is still looking for a director and its script was penned by Chris Terrio (“Argo”). Production should start in the summer of 2013, when Jennifer Lawrence will be done shooting blockbusters “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire” and “X-Men: Days of Future Past”. — AFP/Relaxnews
