Goodman will play senator Gil John Biggs from North Carolina, a bon vivant with a strong sense of entitlement due to his former success as a basketball coach.

"Alpha House" is one of six original creations Amazon Studios started working on last December. The new studio has also ordered pilots for "Browsers," "Dark Minions," "Supanatural," "Those Who Can't" and "The Onion Presents: The News."

John Goodman might be doing a lot of TV but he is not neglecting his work on the big screen. After featuring in Ben Affleck's "Argo," the actor will soon be seen in George Clooney's "The Monuments Men," The Coen brothers' "Inside Llewyn Davis" and the third installment of "Very Bad Trip." — AFP-Relaxnews
