Kanye West releases two new singles, reprises G.O.O.D. Friday freebie

April 06, 2012

SAN FRANSISCO, April 6 — American rap star Kanye West will reprise his G.O.O.D. Friday music series today, coinciding nicely with actual Good Friday, with a new track titled “Mercy.”

The track is the second West plans to release this week. He gave his fans a treat on Wednesday night with a new track titled "Theraflu," featuring DJ Khaled, that premiered on Funkmaster Flex's radio show.

According to Pusha T via Twitter on Wednesday, West will unveil “Mercy,” the lead track from G.O.O.D. Music: The Album, which does not yet have a release date. Announced by West last fall, the album will reportedly feature members of West’s G.O.O.D. Music label, including Kid Cudi, CyHi da Prynce, John Legend, Common, Big Sean, Common, Pusha T, and Mr. Hudson, among others.

According to Island Def Jam, the track “Mercy” will be available at 12:00 a.m. ET today and features West himself, Pusha T, Big Sean, and the label’s newest signee, 2 Chainz.

The G.O.O.D. Friday series, which West launched in 2010 to promote his My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy album, became a weekly song reveal, but reportedly no singles have been released since 2010. While the new track premiere on Friday is good news for G.O.O.D. Music fans, Pusha T did not state whether or not “Mercy” would relaunch the beginning of the series.

West and Jay-Z are kicking off the European leg of their Watch the Throne tour on May 18 in London with a five-night run at the O2 Arena. The tour wraps up on June 22 in Birmingham, England, after stops in cities including Paris, Stockholm, Zurich, and Dublin. — AFP-Relaxnews
