LOS ANGELES, Jan 31 – Yesterday, Brooklyn-based producer How To Dress Well and Californian noise rockers Wavves are among acts on the Hype Machine’s most blogged artists chart.
The fantastic Tom Krell, better known as How To Dress Well, is back in the Hype Machine’s charts thanks to a recently dropped Elite Gymnastics remix of his track “& It Was U.”
Elite Gymnastics previously collaborated with How To Dress Well, treating “Suicide Dream 2” to a remix last year.
The new remix from the Vancouver-based producer has caused a buzz on indie music blogs.
Nothing But Hope And Passion describes it as “a smooth grooving (first half) and also quite relaxing (second half) tune”; while Keep On Repeat calls it “an inspiring, club ready rework that I feel offers more than the original.”
Elsewhere in the chart, the hotly buzzed Californian noise/surf rock outfit Wavves returns with the new tune “Demon To Lean On” from forthcoming LP “Afraid Of Heights,” which drops March 26 via Mom + Pop.
We All Want Someone To Shout For states, “’Demon To Lean On’ sees Wavves getting stronger and bolder with a devastatingly good pop-punk hook,” while Stereogum writes “a snottily catchy bit of bubblegrunge that would’ve been all over alt-rock radio in, say, 1995.”
