‘Sixth Sense’ director switches to TV

August 05, 2012

M. Night ShyamalanLOS ANGELES, Aug 5 — M. Night Shyamalan is working on a TV series for American cable network Syfy. He hopes to translate his extensive experience with fantasy flicks to the smaller screen.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the director partnered with Marti Noxon (whose previous work includes Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Mad Men) on the new series, entitled Proof.

It’s the story of a young billionaire who uses the money left over by his recently deceased parents to find proof of life after death.

M. Night Shyamalan will direct the pilot. That doesn’t mean he’s shying away from the big screen, despite the failure of his latest endeavours, Lady in the Water, The Happening (2008) and The Last Airbender (2010): his next movie, After Earth, starring Will and Jaden Smith, will be set in the future, 1,000 years after humans fled the Earth. — Afp-Relaxnews
