Fox Searchlight’s new project is based on the life of the unemployed church volunteer who became a singing sensation in 2009.

During her appearance on the TV show “Britain’s Got Talent”, Boyle gave a memorable rendition of “I Dreamed a Dream” from the musical Les Misérables.

The movie’s name is set to echo the song’s title — “I Dreamed a Dream” also being the name of Boyle’s first album, as well as a musical launched in Newcastle in March 2012.
