Tim Roth will rule Monaco with Nicole Kidman in Grace Kelly biopic
LOS ANGELES, Aug 17 — Tim Roth is the newest addition to the cast of a biopic about Hollywood legend and Princess of Monaco Grace Kelly. The British actor will portray Prince Rainier III, husband of Grace Kelly, played by Nicole Kidman.
Grace of Monaco will be directed by French filmmaker Olivier Dahan (“La Vie en Rose”) and will focus on the tumultuous relationship between the Hollywood actress and her Prince, who ruled Monaco from 1949 until his death in 2005.
Nicole Kidman will portray Grace Kelly, a recurring female star in Alfred Hitchcock’s works who married Prince Rainier III in 1956.
Frank Langella (“Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps”) and Spanish actress Paz Vega were given supporting roles in the biopic: the former will play Father Tucker and the latter will portray opera singer Maria Callas, who was one of Kelly’s closest confidantes.
The script of this Franco-American production was penned by Arash Amel and will shed light on the diplomatic tensions between France and the principality of Monaco in 1962. —AFP/Relaxnews
