LOS ANGELES, Jan 31 — The Occupy Wall Street encampment in New York City and sympathetic activists in cities across the US will release a benefit album as a fundraiser with a diverse list of talent including Yoko Ono, Devo, Thievery Corporation, Joan Baez & James McMurtry & Steve Earle, Toots and the Maytals and Yo La Tengo.

Artists including Jackson Browne played Zuccotti Park in downtown Manhattan, and some acts have released their own music, including Celestino Anthony and Richie Rolex.

“Occupy This Album: A Compilation of Music By, For and Inspired by the Occupy Wall Street Movement and the 99%” is the official title of the all-star benefit album that will be released in the spring.

The mission states the album proceeds will benefit the movement: "to inspire and celebrate through music the Occupy Wall Street movement and the 99% who've been adversely affected by the economic corruption."

Proceeds will go "directly towards the needs of sustaining this growing movement," according to a press release for the album.

The complete lineup of artists includes Crosby & Nash, Yoko Ono, Debbie Harry, Devo, Willie Nelson, Jackson Browne, Michael Moore, Thievery Corporation, Immortal Technique, Joan Baez & James McMurtry & Steve Earle, MOGWAI, Ladytron, Lucinda Williams, The Guthrie Family, Third Eye Blind, Toots and the Maytals, Yo La Tengo, Rain Phoenix, Lloyd Cole, and Loudon Wainwright III.
