Black Caviar hold on for Royal Ascot glory
ASCOT, June 23 – Unbeaten Australian raider Black Caviar secured a 22nd consecutive victory, winning by a head to land the Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot today.
The mare, ranked only behind Frankel in the world and racing outside Australia for the first time, was almost caught at the end of the six-furlong sprint but held on from Moonlight Cloud for jockey Luke Nolen and Melbourne trainer Peter Moody. – Reuters
