Derrick Rose teams up with Adidas on new basketball shoe
NEW YORK, Sept 20 — Adidas recently announced the launch of famed American basketball player Derrick Rose’s D Rose 3 signature basketball shoe and apparel collection, set to launch worldwide on Oct 4.
The collection’s logo features three petals revolving around the letter “D” and number “1” in the centre — Rose states that the centre represents not only his jersey number but his mother, Brenda, while his three brothers, Reggie, Allan, and Dwayne, represent the petals.
“I love the new logo that calls out the most important things to me: my family, basketball and the city of Chicago,” said the Chicago Bulls point guard in a statement.
The D Rose 3 shoe launches at retailers worldwide on October 4 for US$160 (RM492) in two coloUr schemes, with seven more coloUr editions unrolling through the end of the year.
The D Rose signature collection is also available Oct 4 and comes complete with jackets, hoodies, T-shirts, shorts, pants, hats, and socks ranging from US$15 to US$80.
This spring, Adidas enlisted the aid of pop star Katy Perry and famed soccer star David Beckham to back a sleek running shoe dubbed the ClimaCool Seduction.
