David James moves to second tier Bristol City

July 30, 2010

LONDON, July 30 — England’s World Cup goalkeeper David James has signed a one-year deal to play for Championship (second division) Bristol City, the club said today.

The 39-year-old’s contract will run from August 1 with the option of a further year, City added on their website (http://www.bcfc.co.uk).

James has also played in the Premier League with Liverpool, Aston Villa, West Ham United and Manchester City and won the FA Cup with Portsmouth in 2008. — Reuters
