LONDON, Feb 1 — The Premier League match between Everton and leaders Manchester City at Goodison Park was halted for about four minutes yesterday when a male fan went on to the pitch and handcuffed himself to a goalpost.

Police freed the man, who had attached himself to the post in the goal that City were defending. The score was 0-0 at the time.

City went down 1-0 to a goal by former Manchester United player Darron Gibson. United moved level on points with City at the top of the Premier League after Alex Ferguson’s side overcame Stoke City 2-0 through two penalty goals. — Reuters
