Competitors will be divided into 12 categories, including two junior categories for competitors below 21 years old and a masters category for competitors above 45 years old.
The winner in each category will represent Kuala Lumpur in the Malaysian Bodybuilding Championships, also known as Mr Malaysia, which will be held next month in Penang. All category winners will compete for the overall Mr Kuala Lumpur title, also known as “Champion of Champions”.
Last year’s Champion of Champions title was won by Ubaidillah Nasri, with his superbly muscular, well-conditioned and symmetrically built physique. Ubaidillah then went on to make Kuala Lumpur proud by grabbing the runner-up position in the light-heavyweight category at the Mr Malaysia championship.
Kuala Lumpur Bodybuilding Federation (KLBBF) honorary secretary Vincent Ho said: “Hopefully this year’s Mr Malaysia will bring out the best of what KL bodybuilders can represent. As in previous years, the crowd has been growing in momentum and has brought even those who were sceptical to come and watch it.”
The event starts at 1pm. Tickets cost RM10 and can be bought at the venue. All proceeds from ticket sales will be used to sponsor the KL bodybuilding team to compete at Mr Malaysia.
