Penang target top spot in FAM league

GEORGE TOWN, Jan 6 – The Penang Football Association (FAP) is aiming for the top spot in the FAM League to enable the team to gain promotion to the Premier League.

FAP president Mohd Foaz Hamid said the target was realistic because the state squad comprise young and experienced players.

He said the team had also prepared well for the season ahead by playing a number of friendly matches with state and foreign clubs to ensure the target could be achieved.

“Our target this season is to finish at the top so that we can compete in the Premier League next season.

“I am confident we can meet the target based on the outcome of the friendly matches we have played,” he told reporters after revealing the new outfit of the Penang team, here, today. – Bernama
